Kale – Lacinato

$4.25$40.00

Description

Heirloom! Also known as “Dino Kale” due to its crinkled, glossy, dark green-blue leaves, almost reptilian in appearance. Or perhaps the nickname comes from the fact that the mature plants look like palm trees that dotted the Jurassic landscape. Either way, this Italian heirloom kale has become famous for its great flavor and versatility in soups, salads, stir-frys and beyond. Especially delicious when leaves are young or after a light frost. Lacinato Kale is a staple on any Northwest mixed vegetable farm, as it’s a cinch to grow, a favorite at farmers market, and incredibly cold-hardy. Our best selling kale at market and grocery stores. Origins go back to 18th century Italy.
