Bok Choi- Prize Choi

$4.25$30.00

Description

Beautiful and notably tall, upright plants with juicy white stems. Prize Choi bok choi is mild and crunchy – perfect for stir-fries or eaten raw. May be grown small for baby choi, but we like giving them 6-8” so they reach their handsome potential. Easy to bunch and pack without breaking. An old variety from the former northwest company Alf Christianson Seeds.

Days to Maturity: 20 to baby, 45 to full size
Latin Name: Brassica rapa
Life Cycle for Seed Saving: Annual

Planting Instructions:
Direct seed Prize Choi bok choi as soon as soil can be worked or start indoors 2 weeks before transplant. Seeding depth: ¼”. Full-sized plants: transplant 8-12” apart with 12-24” between rows. Baby leaf: direct seed 4 seeds/inch with 5” between rows.

All of our seed is Non-GMO and Certified Organic by Washington State Department of Agriculture. We grow the majority of our varieties here at Deep Harvest Farm on Whidbey Island while we purchase the rest from other small, organic Northwest seed growers. Finally, all of our offerings are open-pollinated (OP) so that you too can save and share seed from these plants!
