Description
Dark-burgundy pops of petals atop sturdy 30-36” stems. This deep color is hard to come by and is well suited to create “rustic chic” and autumnal arrangements. The flowers are also adorable, sturdy, long-lasting, and edible. Black Button Bachelor’s Buttons (say that 10 times fast!) work well in both fresh and dried bouquets. Butterflies love em, but deer don’t! Also called Cornflower, this once wild plant was named for its proliferation among European corn fields. The term Bachelor Button was adopted after men supposedly began using them in the buttonholes of their suits, indicating they were in love or ready for courting. Brought to the US in the 17th century.
