Bean (Bush Snap) – Buerre de Rocquencourt

$4.25$10.00

Packet = ~45 seeds

Description

In 2018 we grew six open-pollinated yellow bush beans and easily decided that Buerre de Rocquencourt Bean was the one to keep.  While most yellow beans seem to have either strong yields OR good, crisp eating quality (or neither), Buerre de Rocquencourt has both. Heavy sets of pastel yellow, uniform beans were among the first to mature in our cool spring weather. According to Mother Earth News, “The variety takes its name from Rocquencourt, a town near Versailles. In the 19th and early 20th centuries Rocquencourt was famous for its fine vegetables, so the name carried the connotation of high quality. The bean evolved locally through selection and became fully recognized as a commercial variety in the 1930s.”

Days to Maturity: 50
Latin Name: Phaseolus vulgaris
Life Cycle: Annual
