Description
We were hesitant to add yet another kale to our catalog, (as we are always limited on our Brassica Oleracea seed isolations here at Deep Harvest), but then we tried Baltic Red. Introduced to us by our friends at Adaptive Seeds, this kale checks all the boxes. Beautiful and dark, highly ruffled leaves span the spectrum from green to dark red, with purple veins and stems. Very tender and sweet for a red, frilly kale, and more vigorous than others of its type. Also, this year it fared very well against flea beetle compared to the nearby Lacinato and Red Russian kales. This kale was meet with rave review from both our CSA members and wholesale customers.
