Description

Both uniquely beautiful and inarguably delicious, these 18” long trusses of heart-shaped, candy apple red tomatoes are oh so easy to love.  Gardener’s Sweetheart Tomato- bred by long-time seed hero Will Bonsall of the Scatterseed Project and introduced to us by our friends at Uprising Seeds. Gardener’s Sweetheart annihilated the competition in our open-pollinated cherry tomato trial of 2019.  Sweet, substantial fruits resist splitting so entire trusses of ripe fruits can be harvested on the vine all together. Planting Instructions:
Start Gardener’s Sweetheart Tomato indoors mid-March through early May. Optimal soil temperature for germination is 75-85°. Seed depth: 1/8”. Plant spacing: deter. 12-18”, indeter. 24-36”. Harden off before planting in ground. Plant in full sun after danger of frost has passed.

All of our seed is Non-GMO and Certified Organic by Washington State Department of Agriculture. We grow the majority of our varieties here at Deep Harvest Farm on Whidbey Island while we purchase the rest from other small, organic Northwest seed growers. Finally, all of our offerings are open-pollinated (OP) so that you too can save and share seed from these plants!
