Kale – Meadowlark

Price range: $4.50 through $12.00

Description

Never. Enough. Kale. Varieties!!
Meadowlark has held rank as our favorite green curly kale for nearly 10 years. Every year, our crew harvests literally thousands of bunches of it for our CSA and local grocery store. While we admit the world may not be clamoring for yet another variety of green kale, we simply had to make room for Meadowlark in our catalog. Its impressively long, lime-green leaves are wavy and attractive, getting tighter and curlier as the plant ages. It’s tender, sweet and easy to de-rib. During years of intense flea beetle pressure, Meadowlark withstood the onslaught better than nearby Lacinato or Russian kales. Bred by Beingenhimer Seeds of Germany, a company that offers a wide range of varieties for biodynamic and organic systems.
