Amaranth – Love Lies Bleeding

Price range: $4.50 through $10.00

Description

Florists say that every bouquet needs flowers to “thrill, fill, and spill.” Love Lies Bleeding’s draping fuchsia inflorescences add dramatic and elegant spills to any arrangement.  Love Lies Bleeding Amaranth was the first of its species that we ever saved for seed, and we continue to be enchanted by its drama every season. In addition to its beauty amaranth produces loads of pink, nutrient-rich grain, with a single plant producing up to a half pint of seed. Amaranth is native to Mexico where the seeds are popped and mixed with honey for a traditional snack called “alegria.”
