Chamomile – German

$4.25

Packet (~500 seeds)

Description

These cheerful, daisy-like blooms have been used for centuries as a medicinal tea to calm anxiety and settle stomachs. The thin-stemmed, branching plants produce dozens of flowers and will continue to bloom as long as they’re cut. Be warned that the plants will readily volunteer the following year if left to go to seed at the end of summer, although their spring return is generally welcomed by bees and gardeners alike. The name Chamomile derives from the greek word meaning “earth-apple”, named for its sweet, mild scent. Harvest for tea during summer when in full bloom (and essential oil concentration is peaking) simply by pinching off blooms just below the flower head.
