Description
Heirloom! At 6-9,” Danvers 126 is bit shorter than the average carrot, but boasts stocky, substantial and sugary roots that resist cracking and splitting. Our fall carrot trial winner, thanks in large part to its impressively hearty greens – a huge plus when harvesting from heavy, wet fall soils. Autumn carrots can be a bunching nightmare, but not with these tough-topped wonders. Great for eating fresh or processing. The original Danvers was bred in Massachusetts in 1879 by market farmers looking for more vigor and uniformity in a carrot. Danvers 126 is an improved strain developed in the 1940s.
