Snow Pea – Schweizer Riesen

Description

Schweizer Riesen Snow Pea is an Heirloom! Our pursuit of a large, highly-productive and sweet snow pea variety ended in jubilation thanks to our encounter with Schweizer Riesin (“Swiss Giant” in German). When up against six other snow peas in our 2022 trial, only Oregon Giant compared in pea size, but was not nearly as productive. As a bonus, Schweizer Riesin’s delicate pink and purple flowers are lovely enough to be mistaken for a sweet pea. Farmers will love how humongous the peas are as they quickly fill up a pint and all pea pickers will appreciate the speed at which they can amass a meal’s worth of these crisp pods. Brought to the US by the folks at Turtle Tree Seeds. Seed grown by Fellowship Farm
